WATCH: Irish rally drivers produce brilliant profanity-laced exchange after near crash in Galway

Alan Loughnane

About as Irish as it gets…

It takes a serious amount of bottle to be a rally driver. Nerves of steel, a steady hand and the ability to make snap decisions in the blink of an eye.

This driver needed all these skills recently…

The below video shows Art McCarrick and co-driver John McCay taking part in the Galway International Rally last weekend.

The pair had a near miss when Art nearly went into the ditch after losing grip on the slippery surface of Galway’s rural roads.

John wasn’t overly impressed at the near miss and shouted a warning at John not to brake… along with some other choice words.

It was a rather successful weekend for the pair all things considered, as they won their class in the event and managed to finish in 16th spot overall.

As you can see in the video, the pair carry the “give blood, give platelets” message on the car in conjunction with the Irish Blood Transfusion Service and people can text “platelets” to 53377 to find out more information.

Cheers to Art McCarrick for sending this our way.
