WATCH: Joe Rogan explains how Conor McGregor can defeat Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match

Alan Loughnane

It seems the UFC commentator and podcaster thinks The Notorious can actually win in a bout with Floyd Mayweather.

While a possible fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is still just a rumour blowing in the breeze, prominent journalists have said the fight is no longer just a pipe dream.

Just days ago, UFC President Dana White made a public offer to the pair of $25 million each for the fight, with pay-per-view figures to be divided up at a later stage.

Mayweather scoffed at the offer and threw back some barbs at the UFC President.

“I don’t want to talk to Dana White. Dana White, he was a player, he was a boss, but he was a small boss,” Mayweather said. “The big bosses were the Fertittas. But then, Fertittas choose to sell the UFC, so Dana is just an employee. Dana White… I like Dana White, I don’t have anything against him – but I can remember Dana White used to hang around me and Jeff Mayweather and carry my bags. Dana White, I remember you used to carry my bags.”

But if the fight does go ahead, few people have been giving McGregor any chance of defeating ‘Money’ in a boxing ring.

Except UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who outlined on the Joe Rogan Experience a scenario where The Notorious could emerge victorious in a boxing match.

Here’s where Conor McGregor can win,” Rogan said. “MMA gloves… Floyd has had some serious problems in the past with his hands, and he uses those big ass pillow gloves because of it. He’s been known to not really sit down on his punches, he just picks guys apart.

“There’s no doubt about it, Floyd is a masterful boxer but that’s a big transition for him to fighting with small gloves. It’s just as big as the transition for Conor to fight with big gloves.”
