Genuine class from the Liverpool team.
Liverpool beat Napoli 5-0 in front of their Irish fans at the Aviva Stadium last night, but perhaps the most important moment of the night came when Gini Wijnaldum and Andy Robertson held up a banner dedicated to Irish Reds fan Sean Cox.
Cox was left fighting for his life after an attack by Roma fans ahead of a Champions League semi-final in April, and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp went to meet him and his family yesterday while Liverpool were in Dublin.
Andy Robertson shared a video of the banner being hoisted at the Aviva. It reads “Ní shiúlfaidh tú i d’aonar go deo” — which is Irish for “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
“Thinking of Sean and the entire Cox family while visiting amazing Dublin today – sending love from all the boys ❤?? #YNWA”
