A lovely gesture from the players…
Liverpool players have paid tribute to Sean Cox following Wednesday night’s Champions League semi-final win over Roma in Italy.
The players gathered on the pitch and held a flag supporting the critically ill Meath man.

Ahead of the first leg, 53-year-old Sean Cox, from Dunboyne in County Meath, travelled to Anfield with his brother to watch Liverpool play.
He was attacked outside The Albert pub beside Anfield and has been in critical condition ever since.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson also sent a letter to Sean Cox’s GAA club, St Peters Dunboyne expressing their solidarity with them at his difficult time.
In it, Henderson wrote: “Our greatest wish in this moment is that Sean can return home with his family and see that the two sporting clubs he cherishes the most came together because of him.”
A gofundme page set up by an Irish Liverpool supporters group has now raised almost €80,000 for Mr Cox and his family.
