Mesut Özil is one of football’s good guys because many of you will remember the life-saving act of generosity that the German international undertook while playing for his country at the World Cup in Brazil. In case you didn’t know, Özil used his World Cup bonus to pay for 23 sick Brazilian children to have life-saving surgery, an act of generosity that saw him receive an award for his humanitarian work.
If that wasn’t enough, the Arsenal playmaker also personally invited a newlywed couple to the Emirates to see the game and it’s fair to say that the German was in a very happy mood after the Gunners destroyed Chelsea 3-0.
Özil scored the third goal of the game and immediately after the match ended, he was happy to give his jersey to one lucky fan in the crowd.
