Conor McGregor cemented his spot as the most influential figure in MMA this year and secured his spot in history by becoming the first man to hold two UFC belts simultaneously, even if it was rather short lived.
The UFC star is nominated for Sportsperson of the Year at the RTÉ Sport Awards this weekend and as part of it, RTÉ put together this great video showcasing his achievements throughout the year.

He’s joined on the nominees list by Seamus Callanan, Eoghan Clifford, Carl Frampton, Denise Gaule, Jamie Heaslip, Brian Fenton, Daryl Horgan, Annalise Murphy, Paul O’Donovan, Katie George Dunleavy, Bríd Stack and Eve McCrystal.
The awards ceremony will be presented by Darragh Maloney on RTÉ One at 9pm on Saturday, December 17.
