It’s a game of inches…
The greasy surface of Croke Park on a wet day was never going to lend itself to high quality football, but what it did provide us with was a hugely exciting game where you felt like all hell could break loose at any moment.
It finally did for the closing minutes when Mayo pulled back a three point deficit to ensure that no one would be the winners today and the crown for the best team in country will remain a mystery until the replay in two weeks’ time.
You may have to put up with a few of these jokes in the meantime…
At the end of today’s clash, RTÉ cut together one of their now customary montages of moments from the game and they’ve really outdone themselves with this latest one.
