WATCH: The Second Captains promo for tonight’s Wales game will make you shed a tear

We shouldn't be this emotional on a Monday morning.

Wes Hoolahan Second Captains

Second Captains have no business getting us this emotional on a Monday morning.

Are we set for one of those nights? Second Captains certainly seem to think so as they remind us of how we all felt on the evening of 22 June 2016, when Robbie Brady’s header gave Ireland a 1-0 win over Italy at Euro 2016 in Lille.

What we don’t see replayed often enough are the 30-odd seconds leading up to Brady’s goal and THAT missed chance from Wes Hoolahan.

The Norwich playmaker had the perfect opportunity to give the Boys in Green the lead but saw his effort smothered by Salvatore Sirigu in the Italy goal, before dusting himself off and delivering one of the crosses of his life.

Cue tears. And joy. And disbelief. And even more joy as Brady becomes enveloped by the crowd.

We could definitely do with scenes like these in Cardiff tonight.
