WATCH: Shannon rugby team celebrate league victory in suitably entertaining fashion

Congratulations are in order…

…for both Shannon Rugby Football Club’s glorious league triumph on Saturday, and for getting in on the craze of posting increasingly wacky celebrations on social media.

The club are in buoyant mood now that they’re heading up to Division 1A in the IRFU Ulster Bank League following victory over UCC at Thomond Park.

No time to play things down, the team delivered their own spin on the memorable celebrations game with this fine tribute video…

Marvellous work, and a worthy tip of the hat to Bristol City, who caused a bit of a stir when they faced off against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup in January.

Though they were ultimately on the losing end that evening, they made the most of Bobby Reid’s penalty by taking to Twitter with the following:

It’s one of those weird marriages of modern football and social media that we just have to get used to, be it enjoyable enough fare like the above or that horrible mock-WhatsApp group ‘banter’ that clubs sometimes knock up to announce a new signing:
