If there’s one thing that’s particularly true about Derry City, it’s the fact that you can never write the Candystripes off when it comes to the cup competitions because they always seem to save their best form for cup matches.

Kenny Shiels has done a fine job since taking over at the Brandywell – Derry are currently fourth in the league and they’re firmly in contention for a Europa League place – and they’ll fancy their chances of reaching a second FAI Cup final in three years as they welcome Dundalk to the Brandywell this week for their semi-final replay.

Their first meeting at Oriel Park was a cracker, Dundalk raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Dean Shiels and Ciaran Kilduff , but Derry reduced the deficit in the 65th minute thanks to Rory Patterson’s goal.

With just six minutes remaining, substitute Ronan Curtis scored a dramatic equaliser to send the away fans delirious.

Take a look as one Derry fan tries to make a speedy return to the away end at Oriel Park.
