WATCH: This is the incredible shot which set Rory McIlroy on his way to winning $11.5 million
What a win...
Rory McIlroy delivered a powerful Ryder Cup message in the early hours of this morning when he claimed the Tour Championship after winning a three-way play-off against Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell.
This win ensured that he won the $10m FedEx Cup prize, the PGA Tour's season-long points race, which added to the purse from last night's win leaves the Down man a cool $11.5 million richer.
McIlroy produced a superb 64 final round to set up a play-off which he won on the fourth hole.
In the play-off, both McIlroy and Moore birdied the first play-off hole at 18, but the Ulsterman was unlucky to see his putt hit the lip of the hole after a superb second shot.
Chappell was eliminated which left McIlroy and Moore to par the 18th and the 3rd before McIlroy sealed the win on the 16th.
On the day, McIlroy produced some tremendous shots including a 137 yard eagle on the 16th and a birdie on the last.
Have a look at the class shot below and enjoy his jubilation at his own success.
