Who is going where tonight? Here’s what the bookies think on Transfer Deadline Day

JOE

Transfer deadline day used to be like Christmas for football fans, however this year it has lacked excitement and has been quite underwhelming thus far.

There is still time. We are living in hope that there will be a few massive moves this evening.

The bookies have been speculating…

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign for Southampton is one of interest. This move is currently 5/1 and makes sense, with the diminutive winger looking for a regular starting place so he can ensure his spot on England’s plane to France. ‘The Ox’ started his career with The Saints, so already has a connection with the club.

Loic Remy signing for Leicester seemed to be a sure thing earlier in the day and the 4/6 price it’s currently at could represent excellent value.

Newcastle’s move for Saido Berahino looks dead in the water, but Daniel Levy has been unnervingly quiet thus far today and we wouldn’t be surprised if he signed the Baggies player for Tottenham before the deadline passes. This move is priced at 5/2.

There are rumours that Manchester United may be interested in Watford’s Odion Ighalo. We doubt there’s any truth in it, but if you’re feeling speculative you can get 5/1 on that transfer going through.

Ladbrokes also have a host of other novelty bets.

For instance, you can bet on who the last Premier League club to sign a player will be. Liverpool are no strangers to late deals and they are currently priced at 14/1. Chelsea are another side who have been surprisingly quiet. They are priced at 18/1 to sign the last player of the day.

As of yet, there is no price for Jim White to have a breakdown and cry because the drama is all a little bit too much, but we will remain vigilant.
