Who’s JOE backing for the BDO world title? The fella called Jimmy Hendriks of course

If you want to follow somebody in the ‘other’ darts championships it has to be Jimmy Hendriks.

JOE

If you want to follow somebody in the ‘other’ darts championships it has to be Jimmy Hendriks.

While Phil Taylor and the rest of the PDC crowd may have wrapped up their World Championship, the other world championship, the BDO, kicks off on the BBC tomorrow.

The action at Lakeside may not have quite the glitz, glamour and standard of play as the Ally Pally version but it has given us a wonderfully named Dutch dartist to follow.

Reigning champ Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams takes on Jimmy Hendriks in the first round on Sunday and with a name like that, you have to take notice. According to Jimmy’s site, the 18-year-old has been competing for two years and his biggest achievement to date is winning the world Under 18 title in 2011 in Ireland.

The odds on Hendriks aren’t great (11/5 against Adams’ odds of 3/10) but if there is any justice, the man with the coolest name in darts will progress.

We’re behind you anyway Jimmy. Just belt out a few bars of ‘Hey Joe’ for us when you win.
