Will the Spanish FA be getting a letter from Dublin GAA about their new jersey?

‘Tis the season to be launching new shirts in football and Spain released their new away kit today. Will Dublin fans adopt it on the Hill this year?

Only yesterday the new Irish kit was officially launched and the lads will wear it in tomorrow night’s game against Czech Republic. Of course, we had it for you a while back, and the reaction was mixed to say the least.

Today, Ireland’s Euro 2012 opponents Spain released their new away kit and we think it is more than a little similar to the sacred blue of Dublin.

Now, we know that the lads in Dublin GAA are very protective of their beloved blue shirts, even going so far as to put a thinly-veiled smackdown on Leinster for using similar colours in some of their shirts.

In the now infamous ‘Blue Wave’ document Dublin said of their shirt: “We can’t copyright a colour but the subliminal exploitation of Dublin’s unique sporting hue by our competitors has not gone unnoticed.”

At the Irish release yesterday it was hinted that we would wear our new away shirt against Spain so we probably won’t see this new blue shirt against us but we suspect we will see a few of these on the Hill cheering on the Dubs this summer.

The question is, will Xavi, Iniesta and the lads be getting a letter from Parnell Park for ‘subliminal exploitation’?
