Apple create a help page instructing iTunes users how to delete free U2 album from their library

It can’t be that bad, can it?

It can’t be that bad, can it?

We’re pretty sure Apple would have expected a largely positive response to their decision to make the new U2 album ‘Songs of Innocence’ available for free last week, but it appears as if they never factored in the fact that some people are never happy. At all.

Some iTunes users reacted angrily to the fact that U2’s album was now present in their libraries (they didn’t have to download it) and rather than simply not listen to it, they vented their anger on social media, presumably miffed that it was taking up space.

Such was the uproar over Apple’s free gift that they decided to do something about it, creating a help page instructing iTunes users how to go about deleting it from their library.

Those who delete the album and subsequently change their minds have until October 13 to download it for free once again, although we wouldn’t be in any way surprised if there’s a similar outcry from iTunes users bemoaning the fact that they have to pay for it once that expiry date has passed.
