The latest reports into Apple’s work practices has found that they’re producing a plastic version of their iPhone, as well as a whole heap of labour violations… allegedly.

Apple have been in the headlines before for many of the labour practices they reportedly have in place, and the most recent report by China Labour Watch, performed undercover, looks to have landed them in a bit more hot water.

It seems that the report criticises Apple’s manufacturer of choice Pegatron for hiring underage workers, breaching contracts and demanding that staff work excessive hours, according to what the lads at Digital Spy are reporting.

Apple, as usual have promised to look into these reports, but something else which has emerged from the investigation is that they are making a plastic casing for the next iPhone. An undercover reporter, who posed as a worker, stated that he was on the assembly line working on the plastic cover, and the phone “will soon be released on the market by Apple”.

We’ve seen a few leaks of pictures in the last few weeks, including a few that show different colour casings, but this seems to have all but confirmed it. It’s believed the latest product, which will be named the iPhone 5S or the iPhone 5C, will be launched on September 18th.
