Word of warning: Don’t get your hopes up…
GTA V was only released a little over a year ago on PS3 and Xbox 360 systems and it hasn’t even come out on PC yet, but there are already rumours that the next Grand Theft Auto franchise game has entered the development process.
Many outlets are claiming that ‘GTA VI HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY ROCKSTAR!’ but that’s not exactly the case. Unfortunately…
The rumour started after the guys over at Develop-Online had a chat with Rockstar North’s President, Leslie Benzies, in the first of a four-part interview.
At the end of the interview the question of GTA VI was brought up and Benzies said: “’We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do,’ Benzies laughs. ‘We don’t know what GTA VI will be, but we’ve got some ideas. GTA Online is the focus right now…’”

So is GTA VI definitely in the works? Well judging by the successes of their previous titles, not to mention the massive fan-base the games have garnered over the years, another instalment of the franchise is pretty much a given.
You don’t need Leslie Benzies to tell you that.
But saying that the game has “been confirmed by Rockstar” is stretching things a bit. At least Benzies did say that they’ve ‘got some ideas’.
