People are calling for GTA 6 to be banned after watching the trailer

‘This content should be banned!’

The world of gaming has been sent into a frenzy this week following the release of the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, but not everyone was happy after watching it.

After years of development, and more than a decade after the release of Grand Theft Auto V, the producer of the franchise have finally released the first footage of the much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI.

Although it doesn’t feature any gameplay, the world record-breaking trailer does show us some stunning shots of Vice City, some pretty impressive-looking graphics and an introduction to the game’s female lead character Lucia.

It also reveals that we won’t be getting our hands on the game until 2025.

In a press release, Sam Houser, the founder of Rockstar Games, said: “Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences.

“We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”

Following the trailer’s release though, #BanGTA6 started trending on social media as many labelled the game inappropriate.

Most of the concern revolves around what impact the game could have on children.

One person wrote: “This content is NOT safe for children and should be banned!!”

Another said: “Video games are for children, it is disgusting and disappointing seeing what kind of things Rockstar are showing to our kids.”

A third exclaimed: “WE NEED TO BAN GTA6! CHILDREN SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING THIS GAME!!!”

And someone else claimed the game was part of the “mass social engineering project to permanently rot the personalities, values, and ambitions of young men,” adding that it was having the same impact as OnlyFans and PornHub.

Whilst there is of course a lot of swearing, violence and crime in the games, they’re not marketed to children and have made it clear that players should be of a certain age to play the game.

The game is rated M for Mature, which means that it should only be played by people aged 17 or over in the US, and 18 or over in the rest of the world.

Grand Theft Auto has been criticised in the past for its extreme violence, so you can probably expect more concerned voices as the release of GTA VI creeps ever closer over the next year and a half.

Let’s be honest though, Rockstar aren’t going to change the game because of these concerns.
