The biggest games conference of the year is taking place this weekend, so you can expect all of the games you’re going to be wanting this Christmas and beyond to be getting mentioned A LOT in the next 48 hours.
Before it kicked off properly, the first 12 minutes of Star Wars: Battlefront II reportedly leaked early, and to say it looks impressive is a massive, MASSIVE understatement.
We got the trailer about a month ago and it got everyone properly excited, but actually seeing the huge improvements that this sequel is making upon the original Battlefront in action is quite the sight to behold.

And then there’s Assassin’s Creed.
2016 was the first year since the franchise’s arrival that we didn’t get a major release in the series, and after the movie adaptation didn’t set the world alight the way many would’ve hoped, the game’s return had best stick the landing.
Having said that, it does look like the developers are doing something very interesting with the story, with what is being called Assassin’s Creed Origins, and taking the tale further back than we’ve ever gone before, all the way to what looks like Ancient Egypt.

It would appear that we are going to be getting the origin story of the Brotherhood itself (don’t worry non-Assassin’s Creed fans, it is basically just the fancy name for the good guys), and while it hasn’t been made official yet, it does look like we will be playing it by 27 October!
As the E3 convention continues over the weekend, you can expect your pals here at JOE to be keeping you up to date with all of the latest games news.
