Prime Day sale features some big mobile phone discounts

Amazon Prime Day in Ireland is live and the best mobile phone discounts can be found on the Apple iPhone 16e and the Google Pixel 9.

Prime Day is Amazon's second biggest sales event of the year after Black Friday and 2025 is the first year the sale will be available on Amazon.ie.

The Irish version of Amazon launched earlier this year and the site is taking part in Prime Day for the first time.

The Apple iPhone 16e was launched earlier this year as a more budget-friendly addition to the iPhone 16 range.

The phone is usually €753.59 but the deal brings the price down to €657. The discount is 10% of the usual price but given the new iPhone ranges are rarely discounted it is a rare offer on the handset.

The iPhone 16e is based on the older iPhone 14 but Apple has upgraded the processor, camera and screen for better performance, bringing it more in line with the standard 16 range at a much lower entry price.

There are bigger deals to be found on the Google Pixel 9 range of phones. The Google Pixel 9 Pro is discounted from €823.96 to €769 in the sale.

The Obsidian 128GB phone has a triple rear camera system, the Android Gemini AI system, and a 6.3-inch screen with 64MP resolution.

The standard Google Pixel 9 is also discounted with 21% off the price of the handset. It is now listed for €730 in the Prime Day sale.

The deals on the iPhone 16e and Google Pixel are available as part of the ongoing Amazon Prime Day sale, which runs from 8 July to 11 July, and all of the latest mobile deals can be found here.

Those who buy the Google Pixel 9 phones can also get a big discount on Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless headphones.

They are reduced to €207 in an Amazon exclusive deal for Prime Day. The lightweight earbuds feature noise cancelling and deliver crisp, professional sound. It is the cheapest they have ever been in Ireland and the lower price will be available until midnight on 11 July.
