A gadget described as the ‘iPhone’ of energy monitors, which reduces electricity bills by an average of 25 per cent, is now available in Ireland.

The sleek, portable Wattson 01, which tells owners the amount of energy they are using via a transmitter attached to their electricity meter or fuse box, is now available ahead of planned electricity price hikes set to come online on 5 October 2010.

Insight Energy is distributing the Wattson 01 in Ireland on behalf of manufacturers DIY Kyoto.

Priced at €129.95, the Wattson can also measure renewable energy so it is also of use to individuals or small companies who generate power through solar panels or wind turbines.

Consumption can be displayed in Euros and a memory capacity that can capture data for up to four weeks and then be transferred to a PC via USB.

The Wattson 01 is now available to the public, for wholesale customers and for business customers. Click here for more information. www.wattson.ie.
