Chris Cook, Community Manager at GamePointsNow over in the UK, today announced that he will be making an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “The Longest Video Game Marathon On a Football Game" by playing FIFA 15... for 48-hours. The attempt aims to smash the current record, which according to the Guinness World Records website is “38 hours 49 minutes 13 seconds and was achieved by Marco Ramos and Efraim Ie (both Portugal) who played Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 (Konami, 2011) at the Alegro Alfragide Shopping Mall, Lisbon, Portugal from 18-20 November 2011”. Chris’ efforts will help raise funds on behalf of “the gamers charity”, Special Effect. “I've been playing FIFA games since they first started way back on the Mega Drive, so couldn't think of a better way to raise money & awareness for a truly amazing cause," Chris said. "As someone who has seen firsthand how gaming can help enhance lives, I could not think of a better charity to lend my support to”. Chris’ epic game-off will be taking place at the gaming themed cocktail bar, Loading Bar, in Dalston, North London, between the 5-7th November 2014. Online donations can be made via Chris' JustGiving page. The record attempt will be live streamed live (internet stability permitting) via Twitch.tv and will feature giveaways from big name supporters. There will also be opportunities for people to challenge Chris to online matches throughout the entire attempt so make sure to tune in if you fancy being apart of the record attempt.
