Pikachu can talk in his new video-game, and his voice is completely freaking people out

Rory Cashin

We know now what pure evil sounds like…

Pokemon have been around since 1996, and for as long as they’ve existed, the Pikachu has been pretty much been front and centre of them all.

That small, yellow, electricity powered creature has always intended to be cute enough for fans of the shows and movies and games to want one themselves.

Well, that whole idea is about to come crumbling down, thanks to the arrival of Detective Pikachu.

Check out the first footage of him talking right here:

The game has been available in Japan since 2016, but the mystery-solving Pokemon will finally be getting a Western release on the Nintendo 3DS from March this year, and with it we get this Danny DeVito-sounding version of Pikachu that has successfully freaked out every last person who has heard it talking.

Yep, you’ll remember that we reported a few weeks back that Ryan Reynolds will play Detective Pikachu in the movie adaptation of the game, which is due for release in 2019.

If he doesn’t successfully scare the children so out of their wits that they run screaming from the cinema, then we consider it a step in the right direction.
