Twitter is upping its game

Twitter is upping its game.

Earlier this morning, we brought you news of a few interesting Snapchat updates and they’re not the only social media app refusing to stand still.

Twitter have revealed that video sharing and private group direct messaging have been added to the app, bringing them up to speed with similar social media tools like Facebook and Instagram.

The video sharing feature on Twitter will enable users to shoot and edit video content of up to 30 seconds before uploading it. Users will also be able to upload existing video content from another device, like a smartphone, tablet or a laptop.

Furthermore, Twitter also seem to be muscling in on WhatsApp with a new feature which allows direct messages to be shared with a group of up to 20 people, as opposed to one individual as had previously been the case.

The effect that the introduction of video will have on Vine, which Twitter provided a huge platform for, remains to be seen, but the new features will probably ensure that we all spend even more time on the app than we already do.

Productivity is over-rated anyway, right?
