What a pikachoone…
Pokemon was a massive favourite of youngsters back in the day; the TV show, the trading cards, the video games, it was a bit of a cult craze.
If you happened to miss it, the concept was that Donal Skehan look-alike, Ash Ketchum, always wanted to be a Pokemon master by collecting as many of the little monsters as possible. There were battles, tears, villains, explosions and friends; it was great.
Like all great kids TV shows, it had a great theme tune too, one of those really annoying ones that you just couldn’t get out of your head.
Irish musician Colm Gavin has completely re-invented the Pokemon theme in the class clip below. He’s stripped it back to just his voice and an acoustic guitar, it’s pretty cool.
