You may not be aware, but it is a scientific fact, proven by scienticians, that anything can be made 20% cooler by implementing LED lights, or lights of any shape or form.

Take for example, LA Lights, the 90s runners that lit up after every step you made… for about a day or two, until the lights wouldn’t work anymore. Oh sure, we could’ve bought the regular LA Gear footwear instead but come on people, LIGHTS!

In our modern age, there’s surely nothing cooler than blue LED lights – every scene in Tron Legacy was pretty much infected with it it. Now Japanese electronics firm Owltech, who have introduced a number of new mechanical keyboards, with one model boasting the glory of LED lights for each of its keys. Good lord, it’s glorious.

To be fair, it’s not much of a looker without those LED lights

Owltech’s LED model is currently priced at ¥12,800 (€113) while the regular, ‘LA Gear’ version of the keyboard costs just ¥7980 (€70). The keyboards are also remarkably extremely resilient Owltech reckon they can handle to 20 million keystrokes.

So is it worth the extra €43 for what amounts to an impressive, but completely superfluous feature the LED keys? Of course it is, in fact we’d nearly buy two – just how long does it take to reach 20 million keystrokes anywho?
