To ensure a great cycling experience for everyone, the Sunday event is limited to 5,000 riders on 24th August, which includes the 50km, 100km and 150km.. There are four different routes to choose from, each of varying degrees of difficulty:
The Kelly Spin is a family event open to all and you can enter on the day. Over 1,460 cyclists of all ages took part in the 2013 Kelly Spin. This event takes place in Dungarvan on Saturday August 23rd, largely on a scenic cycle track taking in Abbeyside, Clonea and the Gold Coast.
The 50km Kelly Cruise is a gentle tester for those who spend a good bit of time in the saddle. For those, however, who are not regular cyclists, this a really good test, and particularly suitable for family participants. The 50km participant limit of 1,500 in 2014 and pre-registration is required, so visit anpost.ie/cycling to find out more about signing up.
The 100km Kelly Heritage Route is ideal for the touring cyclists. This stunning route takes in the wonderful scenery along the River Blackwater through Cappoquin, Lismore and Knockanore and skirts the coast through Ardmore and An Rinn. The 100km participant limit is 1,900 in 2014 and again pre-registration is required.
The 160km Kelly Comeragh Challenge is the tough, tough, part of the tour and not for the faint hearted. It includes four tough climbs, Tickincor, Powers the Pot, Mahon Falls & the Máma Road and is suitable for more experienced touring cyclists or those that have taken part in the 100k in previous years. The 160km participant limit is 1,600 in 2014 and Pre-registration is required.
