03/05 At the end of the day

The day is nearly done..... what do we do now? Read this.

JOE

Pic of the day

Pic of the day….(above)… All-star Joe Canning and Tony Óg Regan celebrate Galway’s capture of the National Hurling League Division One title after overcoming Cork in some style at Semple Stadium last night.

Galway may have complained about the start time of 7pm but they had no complaints about their performance.

Mood swingometer

Today we’re feeling…… Satisfied.

It has been a marvellous sporting weekend for us here in the JOE office. Three huge yet disappointing rugby matches, plenty of soccer, and we stayed up late to watch Mayweather pummel Mosley in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Then it was up early again to see Chelsea go a huge step to winning the Premier League – with the hurling league final and the snooker thrown in for good measure.

We got our fix, that’s for sure.

Tonight’s Telly

Pick of the night: Die Hard 4, RTE1, 9.30pm

Tough cop John McClane is sent to escort a computer hacker to Washington for questioning. During this routine operation he stumbles on the plans of a criminal mastermind to launch a technological terrorist attack on America. GGrrrrr!! The latest edition to the classic series of Bruce Willis movies gets its big premiere screening on Irish terrestrial telly tonight. He’s still got it.

Sporting highlight: Live Snooker: World Championship final, BBC2 8pm.

The climax of the big one – the final between Neil Robertson and Graeme Dott at the Crucible. This one could go on late but well worth staying up for as it could go either way. Robertson could become the first ever Australian to win it.

More TV: CSI NY, RTE2, 10.25pm.

If you don’t fance watching Bruce or the snooker then CSI always has the answer. Tonight the team embarks on a desperate search to find the source of a radioactive substance that has already claimed three lives at a Maroon 5 concert, and hospitalised Sid, who was exposed while examining a body.

Live like JOE

…..Chill out.

It’s Bank Holiday Monday lads – time to relax. Here are a couple of little pointers on how to wind down after the weekend and help make tomorrow an easier day for you.

Think positively – Sure the weekend may be over, we lost in all three Rugby matches and the country is a mess. But no point feeling down eh?

Don’t feel guilty – So you had a few extra beers and herself is giving out because you turned up at Sunday dinner at her parent’s house smelling like St. James’ Gate. So what – guilt is a key element of stress and there’s no need for it.

Relax – Today is an extra day off so make the best of it!
