We’ve no idea what twisted parents would want to name their child ‘Anal’ but it has been revealed as one of the baby names banned by authorities in New Zealand for being too offensive.

We’re used to seeing some downright awful baby names being thrust upon the children of celebrities who will no doubt hate their famous parents for such a burden when they’re older, but it turns out that it’s not only the well-known guilty of such heinous crimes.

Not in New Zealand at least, where a list of 77 baby names banned for being too offensive by authorities has been revealed.

According to ABC News Australia, amongst the suggestions vetoed by the Department of Foreign Affairs are names such as ‘Anal’, ‘Lucifer’, ‘Mafia No Fear’ ‘4Real’ and ‘V8’.

Some incredibly lazy parents were also prevented from giving their children convenient titles such as ‘2nd’ ‘3rd’ and ‘5th’, while names that would indicate rank such as ‘King’ ‘Princess’ and ‘Duke’ were also rejected. ‘Justice’, meanwhile, was the most popular name to be turned down, having been rejected over 60 times since 2001.

This wouldn’t be the first time that there has been controversy over names in the Land of the Long White Cloud as in 2008, parents who gave their child the ridiculous moniker ‘”Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii” were ordered to change it in court, with the judge in question criticising the use of names such as “Number 16 Bus Shelter”, “Midnight Chardonnay” and twins called “Benson” and “Hedges”.

You wouldn’t see those sorts of ridiculous names in Ireland, isn’t that right Willie?
