The Barca man shows he just as classy off the pitch as on it…

Last night we watched the midfield maestro help his country into the Confederations Cup final after an epic 120 minutes of action and a penalty shoot out, in which he naturally stepped up and scored.

Today, an off-pitch story shows that Andres Iniesta is not just a smooth operator when he togs out for club or country. It is reported in Spain that the 29-year-old has stepped in to prevent his old club Albacete get relegated to the bottom tier of Spanish football.

Iniesta has just paid €240,000 in overdue wages, ensuring Albacete will stay in Segunda Division B and not face the wrath of the sporting authorities.

And it’s not even the first time Iniesta has helped them out, he also gave them €420,000 back in 2011. Considering he only played for them as a kid before joining Barca at 12, it is a serious commitment, and proves just what a top man he really is.
