With a week advantage over Clare, Cork have got the ball rolling for their All-Ireland song with their own take on Return of the Mack, the rather apt Return of Liam Mac.

With the hurling finalists known and the two football semis up for decision over the next two weeks, we expect to be inundated with songs for the respective showpieces, though ‘Jimmy’s Winning Matches’ has set the bar quite high indeed.

Courtesy of GMCBeats, this song was aired on Cork’s Red FM and ‘Do The Jimmy Barry Murphy’ is proving as popular among the Rebel listenership as you would expect. And Mark Morrison can surely appreciate the poetic licence that has been taken with his classic song.

“No fear of any opponent, when we got O’Farrell, Harnedy and Cronin. The Dubs thought they could do it and that’s laughable, they could never beat the real capital.”

As we said, we are expecting more, but the first effort from Cork is the forerunner. Over to the boys in Clare.
