Some top class stuff by the bold Mario Rosenstock on Today FM this morning.
We all love Gift Grub for the quality of the voice impersonations and its quirky use of very Irish celebs like Daniel O’Donnell, Louis Walsh and, well, all the Irish rugby team.
But today Mario Rosenstock added a sprinkle of satire and it made the bit even better. Set in a Prime Time debate, hosted by Miriam O’Callaghan, it ‘starred’ Jim Power, an economist at Friends First, and Morgan Kelly, a UCD professor of economics.
Back in 2007 the two men had a very heated debate about the Irish property market, with Power maintaining that everything was grand while Kelly was certain we were headed for a financial disaster. We all know who was right on that score now.
Anyway, Gift Grub today just changed the property bubble to a weather bubble and the result is the best laugh we have had out of the property crash since, well, ever.
