We know that everyone is still busy watching Stephanie Roche’s absolute screamer for Peamount United on repeat, but this latest rocket is well worth a look.
Scored by Raheny United’s Claire Shine in her team’s 6-2 win against Wexford Youth, this great goal is Suarez-esque in its execution. Shine expertly controls the ball over the top with an incredible lob-over-the-defender first touch, lets the ball bounce before unleashing one heck of a shot that rifles in off the post and into the net.
Keep an eye out for the lone supporter on the goal line who celebrates in the most appropriate way possible – two arms aloft in the air. Enough said.
