Judge of The Voice and ex-The Blizzards frontman Bressie is coming under fire today for saying he’s ‘absolutely pro-legislation’ stating that ‘weed won’t kill you’.

“Stress will kill you, cannabis won’t.”

That’s how Bressie feels about the whole pot debate. The 32-year-old Mullingar man spoke to Hot Press recently and said he’s “never been uncomfortable in the company of someone who’s high on marijuana”.

“Saying [marijuana] can lead to other drugs is the weakest, most pathetic argument. It makes so much sense to tax and regulate it”, he added.

According to NewsTalk.ie, the Europe Against Drugs (EURAD) group has described Bressie’s views as “highly irresponsible” and “misguided”.

However, while there are a number of studies that claim smoking pot is bad for you for various different reasons, there are just as many studies that claim smoking pot is actually okay for you and that marijuana may actually have cancer fighting properties.

We’ll leave you to read up on the various pot related scientific studies out there, so that you can make up your own well-informed opinion on the matter. That’s if you’re not already high.
