Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League tonight after losing 2-0 at home to Legia Warsaw which saw the tie finish 6-1 in favour of the Polish side.
The Hoops had a massive mountain to climb trailing 4-1 from the first leg but the game was put beyond them when Michal Zyro put Legia ahead in the 36th minute. Michal Kucharczyk put the icing on the cake with a goal in the 61st minute as the SPL champions left the competition in a whimper.
They now go into the Europa League but not securing Champions League football will come as a massive financial blow as they earned £33m in the competition over the last two seasons.
There’s always the one-horse race in the league to look forward to…
