Our summer may have been pretty short-lived because now the weather forecasters are predicting sleet and snow for the Easter weekend. Great.
The hot weather was so good during March that it set records across the board. Sure the country was pretty much hotter than Spain at one point. However, as per usual, Mother Nature was just teasing us for a couple of days because now we’re hearing that sub-zero temperatures are expected to set in over the run-up to the Easter holidays.
Last week, some places enjoyed temperatures as high as 20 degrees Celsius, however Met Eireann is predicting that we could be in for some chilly weather, with temperatures dropping to as low as -3 degrees overnight.
It won’t get much better during the day either. Highs of 3 to 6 degrees are expected, so you can put the tanning lotion away for another few weeks (at least).
Rain and sleet showers will hit in some places and higher ground areas in the East and North East could even get a bit of snow.
However, we can look forward to the end of the month as temperatures are expected to return to April average of somewhere in the low teens.
As for the sleeveless shirt and the cargo shorts that you’ve been sporting for the past two weeks, you can safely put them away.
