In fairness tp Michael Owen, he takes a lot of flak on Twitter. Some of it is deserved, a lot of it goes over the top. Yesterday, he was put down by a soldier in no uncertain terms.

Owen, who has been struggling with injury for the majority of the season, is generally personable, if not incredibly bland on the social networking site. That, and along with his long periods on the treatment table gives rise to a great deal of criticism sent in his direction.
A couple of weeks ago he rose to the bait and got into a spat with Piers Morgan – who hasn’t? – but this weekend an exchange with a soldier has got a lot of traction.
James Talbot tweeted the former Liverpool and United footballer to ask whether he still played football, and it is difficult to know for certain whether this was a genuine question or a sly dig at the crocked striker.
The Stoke striker responded by asking what he had done with his life, and the response was pretty definite.

Retweeted more than 2,000 times, Talbot did say that he was not trolling the player afterwards, was just merely asking a question, though he did receive subsequent abuse himself.
