Graeme Dott survived a late fight back from Mark Selby to claim a place in the World Snooker Championship final last night.

Dott was leading 14-10 going into Saturday’s session. However, Selby claimed the first two frames and the stage looked to be set for a turnaround.

Dott managed to keep his cool and ground out the following frames, eventually winning 17-14. The Scot will now appear in his third World Snooker Championship final, this time against Neil Robertson.

“I feel relieved more than anything,” he told BBC Sport. “I had loads of doubts. I have the utmost respect for Mark and I was really struggling with my rhythm.

“I’m playing better than I did in 2006. Tonight was a major struggle. But it’s unbelievable – it’s been a massive circle (since depression and falling to ranked 48), thinking my career was over and now I’m back on TV and at the Crucible. I’ve been buzzing through the whole tournament.”
