Former champion Graham Dott has taken a 5-3 lead after the first session of the 2010 World Snooker Championship final at the Crucible.

Dott, who claimed the 2006 title after a tear-inducing final against Peter Ebdon, claimed a tense opening frame with a break of 80.

He led 2-0 and 3-1 before Robertson levelled but the dour Scot seized the final two frames of the session to hold the initiative going into Sunday’s second session.

The focus on the final was disrupted by the morning newspaper exposé which alleged that three-time former champion John Higgins had accepted €300,000 to fix frames. More on that one here.
