The Aussie golfer is everywhere today after landing his first Major in dramatic fashion at Augusta last night. This picture is the best we’ve seen of him and his green jacket.
We honestly didn’t think that Adam Scott had it in him. The 32-year-old Aussie has been close to Major success before but his failings with the flat stick always let him down. Now one of the broom-handle brigade, that side of his game had improved but a number of near misses on Sunday’s back nine looked like they might cost him.
Then he birdied 18, and birdied the second play-off hole, with stone-cold putts to beat Angel Cabrera and win his first Major.
As we all know, that win entitles him to the most famous item of clothing in sport and Bubba Watson slipped it on his shoulders in the early hours of the morning Irish time.
Because of the rain, there wasn’t supposed to be an outdoor ceremony this year but Scott did eventually pop outside for a photocall, leading to this astoundingly good picture from the Masters site, a much better pic than it is from the front, above. Okay, the Instagram magic helps but still…
