A lot of Liverpool fans are already distraught at the prospect of losing Luis Suarez to Arsenal, so this cheeky tweet from ESPN UK during their clash with Melbourne Victory today won’t have gone down well.

Suarez’s desire to leave the Reds seems pretty clear at this stage and although a lot of Liverpool fans are resigned to losing him despite Brendan Rodgers’ insistence he is not for sale, the prospect of him moving abroad rather than to a Premier League rival such as Arsenal would be much easier to bear.

With the Gunners registering a bid of £40,000,001 yesterday – yes that’s £40million + £1 – and reports suggesting that Suarez has sought permission to speak to the club, however, an unlikely move to the Emirates could yet materialise before the end of the transfer window.

Ouch.
