Former West Ham hard man Julian Dicks has been named manager of the Hammers’ ladies team

We don’t know why, but this one made us laugh out loud…

JOE thinks it’s far to say that one of the cult figures of the Premier League era is undoubtedly Julian Dicks. He had two spells at West Ham, either side of a stint at Liverpool, and he established himself as a real favourite at Upton Park for his no-nonsense defending, crunching tackles and his eye for goal.

We don’t know what Dicks is like as a man but we imagine he’s a little bit scary especially if you get on the wrong side of him so West Ham ladies team are in for a hell of a season because he’s been confirmed as their new manager.

Dicks, who has previous management experience at Wivenhoe Town and Grays Athletic, takes over a side that finished 10th in the 11 team FA Womens’ Premier League Southern Division last season.

We believe in Dicks though, if anyone can motivate (scare the shite out of) them it’s him and we’ve decided that West Ham ladies are now our favourite team in that league. Go Dicks!
