Rene Meulensteen has bitten the dust as Fulham look to try and save their season

Another loss during the week has seen those in charge at Fulham decide that further change is needed in the dugout as they turn to experienced German manager Felix Magath to try and help them avoid the drop.

Fulham owner Shahid Khan released a statement to the club’s official website stating that the Cottagers were happy to welcome Magath to the club on an 18-month contract, adding “I’m especially impressed with the reputation Felix has for coming into clubs at difficult times, often late in the season, and lifting them to their potential and beyond”. Magath will be the third manager the club has had this season after they already let Martin Jol go to be replaced by Rene Meulensteen, who hasn’t been given too much time to turn things around by the board.

Speaking of the now unemployed Meulensteen, the statement released by the club made absolutely no mention of him at all, and he has since spoken to BBC radio in an interview where he sounded totally shocked and felt that the board panicked as a result of them being in the relegation zone.

Many Liverpool fans have already been on Twitter and other social media platforms stating that Rene got the sack for ‘only drawing with Manchester United’, which is a brilliant joke, obviously…
