Liverpool are second in the Premier League after beating Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford.
Steven Gerrard, with two penalties, and Luis Suarez were the heroes for Brendan Rodgers’ side. Nemanja Vidic was sent off for the fourth time against Liverpool as Gerrard missed the chance of a hat-trick from the spot.
The opener came from the penalty spot after Rafael clearly handled the ball in the box under pressure from Luis Suarez.

Just 24 seconds into the second half, Phil Jones fouled Joe Allen in the box. Another penalty. Another Gerrard goal.
Gerrard had the chance to make it a hat-trick of penalties in the 78th minute after Nemanja Vidic had been sent off for the fourth time against Liverpool for a foul on Daniel Sturridge, but he hit the post.
Suarez stayed onside to grab Liverpool’s third with six minutes remaining.
