GIF: Lukas Podolski was not at all happy that he didn’t get off the bench last night

Everyone associated with Arsenal were happy to see the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain last night after a lengthy injury lay-off. Everyone except Lukas Podolski that is.

Everyone associated with Arsenal were happy to see the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain last night after a lengthy injury lay-off. Everyone except Lukas Podolski that is.

Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to action for the Gunners as an 86th minute substitute during the Gunners’ 2-1 win over Aston Villa last night, five months after a knee injury suffered against the same opposition on the opening day of the season.

The England international was the third and final substitute used by Arsene Wenger and while Wenger was highly unlikely to throw on a forward considering that Villa were going all out for a late equaliser, the decision did not go down well with Lukas Podolski on the Arsenal bench.

If Podolski is to take anything positive from the situation, at least he’s well able to work a zip, unlike Arsene Wenger, who endured the latest in a long line of battles with his own coat once again last night.
