Tianlang Guan’s quest to become the youngest ever player to make the cut at the US Masters were dealt a blow after being hit with a slow penalty.

The 14 year-old has become the star of the tournament after showing composure beyond his years yesterday when he shot a 73.
Today he backed that up with a 75, but it would have been lower had the officials not punished him on the 17th with a stroke penalty for slow play which saw him bogey the hole and leave him on four-over par for the tournament.
With just the top 50 making the cut, he will be waiting anxiously to find out whether he will back for the final two rounds.
However, the so-called ’10-shot rule’ ensures any player within 10 shots of the 36-hole lead will also be invited to play the weekend, so this might also come into play.
Regardless of whether he makes the cut or not, the young Chinese player has carried himself brilliantly and appears not be in awe of his esteemed company.
