Guernsey FC are facing an incredible run of fixtures this month, but the addition of Matt Le Tissier to the squad should improve their title challenge.

We told you last month we told you how Guernsey FC were facing a fixture pile-up due to the bad weather that was really going to test the club. In fact in the 20 days since we last checked in with the club, they have played eight games, winning half as they struggle to get through the congested fixture pile-up.
In light of their playing predicament, local hero Matt Le Tissier has come out of retirement to help out the club as they face an incredible 17 games in the next month.
The gifted footballer who had was never the biggest fitness fanatic iduring his playing days, is an honorary president at the club, but will play competitively for the first time since retiring in 2002 to boost squad resources.
“Guernsey need all the bodies they can get. The first squad I’ll be available for is next Sunday’s game [14 April] at home to Raynes Park Vale,” he said.
“I was born and grew up on Guernsey. Hopefully my hamstring won’t snap. I’ve been doing a bit of training for the Guernsey half-marathon in June and have been pounding the streets of Southampton.”
The Sky Sports pundit will have his current fitness tested to the maximum as Guernsey look to push on from fourth place in the table with an incredible seven games in hand on the league leaders Egham Town.
We can’t see there being any arguments over free-kick duties with Le Tissier on the pitch.
