Our award for scam of the year goes to the guy in Argentina who’s selling ferrets on steroids and pretending they’re poodles.

If you’ve ever been to a market on holiday, you’ll know that you can get a knock-off version of pretty much anything, from runners and football shirts to watches and colognes, but now it seems you can also get a knock-off pet.
That seems to be the case in Argentina at least anyway, where a few unhappy customers have been complaining that their poodle is actually a ferret.
Now, we would normally be pretty sure that we could tell the difference between a dog and a ferret if you were to put one in front of us, but it must be more difficult than we thought, since it seems the disgruntled pet owners had to be told by their vet that they had a ferret and not a poodle.
We imagine that must have been an interesting conversation to explain to the owners that their dogs had been struck down with a case of terminally being a ferret.
It’s not just poodles though, it would seem the ferrets have been impersonating chihuahuas too according to refinery29.com, so when you get home make sure your dog is actually a dog.
One swindled buyer in particular has lodged a complaint, but as yet no word on where the seller has gotten to.
