In a heart-warming gift from Everton, Leighton Baines was at hand to deliver a season-ticket to a supporter who recently lost his wife to illness.

Gordon McKee had been providing round-the-clock support to his wife Gillian in her five year battle with a brain tumour. She lost that battle, but was nominated in the club’s ‘Make Their Day’ initiative by his son Andrew for his kind and tireless work.
The England defender made the surprise house visit where he offered his condolences, met the family and gave Gordon a season ticket as well as a signed jersey from the full-back.
“I had no idea what to expect,” Gordon revealed. “I had been out shopping and my family said, ‘Get back home quick’, but I didn’t expect that, it’s the biggest shock of my life.”
A really great gesture from the club and player.
