Hey Leitrim, what gives?
Those really smart folks over at eightytwenty have been at it again. Three months ago we featured their work on Twitter use in Ireland and now they are back with a similar look at Facebook penetration here.
The big news is that three out of four Dubliners are on Facebook. With 2.2 million Facebook users in Ireland, it is clear a huge number of those are in the capital.
There is a massive drop to the next county, where Limerick has just over 50 per cent. Other big population centres, like Louth, Waterford, Galway and Cork are all near the top and it is out west that the lowest numbers appear, with Leitrim bottom of the pile with less than 19 per cent on Facebook.
